Commitment
When I started this course in building a better blog, I made a commitment to post something every day. That was going to be my schedule, that no matter what, I needed to keep the connection between you and me open daily. If I was working on a post (of which I am working on several right now) and it wasn’t done, I was not going to wait till it was done to reach out and touch you in some way. Even if it was just a cute little thing I read, some extracurricular research I have done, or if I wanted to share with you what I ate today, it would be something.
My 2nd assignment was for me to design a “List Post” – I have a winner which I know you will enjoy, but here it is like 3pm already and my day is running away from me and so I stopped what I was doing to jot you a little something so you know I am thinking about you.
I actually have a few things for you to consider today.
I completely devoured this womans site over the weekend – ever have one of those people that you just instantly connect with? Even on the internet that happens. I find someone out there that I enjoy reading, someone that speaks my language, someone that I can look to for inspiration and I connect with them on some higher level. They may not even know it (although I do my best to make my presence known, at least I want them to know that they have affected me in some way) but that really doesn’t matter.
All of a sudden it’s just about this person and me. This person might be writing to the millions that are reading, but really, in my head? They are writing only to me, they have chosen to take their valuable time and help me with my goals.
Havi (and Selma – can’t forget the DUCK) did that for me this weekend. She is delightfully REAL and she speaks BIZ – seriously, and she does it well. Anyhoo, she wrote this post on Saturday about Laughing About it Later – one thing I took away from that post was what she said her teacher said to her:
“There is good experience … and then there is useful experience.”
Pretty profound eh? I know you as my readers will get it. You read me cause you get me. You know the value in a sentence like that to me.
Another thing I want you to consider is Twitter – I wrote about it last year and a few of you got involved, but I kinda took it for granted – well now I am using it again, and it’s actually a really good way to keep tabs on me. If you don’t know what Twitter is, check out this video on “Twitter in Plain English” – and then join up if you like, and then follow me.
Third, I am going to be handling the comments on this site a little bit differently. As much as I enjoy answering your comments in my posts, I am going to start commenting on them in the comment section – my posts are going to remain my posts, and the comments the comments – I know it’s a little thing, but it’s something to make the blog a little less complicated.

Finally – just a little update on my P3 – doing just peachy fine dandy – maintaining my 15 lb loss from round 6.1 very well. I am still up in the air about what I am doing for the next two months. Waiting on a call from Terrie to see what my next move is. Seems everyone is dealing with some sort of family crisis right now. So I will just keep on keeping on. I am staying around 75% raw – finding out that me and meat are just not getting along like we used to and that right now is a bit of a conundrum for me. I thought I liked meat, but finding out I am more fond of my veggies – whoda thunk. But here is the thing, I am still very fond of cooked veggies, so trying to fit it all in and be balanced about it.
For your viewing enjoyment – my own creation I call “Apple Cheddar Crunch” – apples, pecans, raisins, mayo and sweetener. YUM YUM!!!
