Commitment

When I started this course in building a better blog, I made a commitment to post something every day.  That was going to be my schedule, that no matter what, I needed to keep the connection between you and me open daily.  If I was working on a post (of which I am working on several right now) and it wasn’t done, I was not going to wait till it was done to reach out and touch you in some way.  Even if it was just a cute little thing I read, some extracurricular research I have done, or if I wanted to share with you what I ate today, it would be something.

My 2nd assignment was for me to design a “List Post” – I have a winner which I know you will enjoy, but here it is like 3pm already and my day is running away from me and so I stopped what I was doing to jot you a little something so you know I am thinking about you.

I actually have a few things for you to consider today.

I completely devoured this womans site over the weekend – ever have one of those people that you just instantly connect with?  Even on the internet that happens.  I find someone out there that I enjoy reading, someone that speaks my language, someone that I can look to for inspiration and I connect with them on some higher level.  They may not even know it (although I do my best to make my presence known, at least I want them to know that they have affected me in some way) but that really doesn’t matter.

All of a sudden it’s just about this person and me.  This person might be writing to the millions that are reading, but really, in my head?  They are writing only to me, they have chosen to take their valuable time and help me with my goals.

Havi (and Selma – can’t forget the DUCK) did that for me this weekend.  She is delightfully REAL and she speaks BIZ – seriously, and she does it well.  Anyhoo, she wrote this post on Saturday about Laughing About it Later – one thing I took away from that post was what she said her teacher said to her:

“There is good experience … and then there is useful experience.”

Pretty profound eh?  I know you as my readers will get it.  You read me cause you get me.  You know the value in a sentence like that to me.

Another thing I want  you to consider is Twitter – I wrote about it last year and a few of you got involved, but I kinda took it for granted – well now I am using it again, and it’s actually a really good way to keep tabs on me.  If you don’t know what Twitter is, check out this video on “Twitter in Plain English” – and then join up if you like, and then follow me.

Third, I am going to be handling the comments on this site a little bit differently.  As much as I enjoy answering your comments in my posts, I am going to start commenting on them in the comment section – my posts are going to remain my posts, and the comments the comments – I know it’s a little thing, but it’s something to make the blog a little less complicated.

Gratitude

Finally – just a little update on my P3 – doing just peachy fine dandy – maintaining my 15 lb loss from round 6.1 very well.  I am still up in the air about what I am doing for the next two months.  Waiting on a call from Terrie to see what my next move is.  Seems everyone is dealing with some sort of family crisis right now.  So I will just keep on keeping on.  I am staying around 75% raw – finding out that me and meat are just not getting along like we used to and that right now is a bit of a conundrum for me.  I thought I liked meat, but finding out I am more fond of my veggies – whoda thunk.  But here is the thing, I am still very fond of cooked veggies, so trying to fit it all in and be balanced about it.

For your viewing enjoyment – my own creation I call “Apple Cheddar Crunch” – apples, pecans, raisins, mayo and sweetener. YUM YUM!!!

The Elevator Pitch

Gratitude

As part of this course I am taking to make this a better blog, I have been asked to write an “Elevator Pitch” – I didn’t even know what an Elevator Pitch was two weeks ago.  But on the 6th of April I was given this assignment – it was the very first assignment of the course, and I have sufficiently ignored it for almost two solid weeks.  It has hung on my wall as a constant reminder that I really have to tackle it, and yet I haven’t.

Like with other things in my life, the things I put off not only grow to unbelievable proportions but they also start doing some pretty funky things to other parts of my life.  Can you hear it?  I do – there is this tape running in my head right now that says, “geesh Biz, if you can’t even get it together to write an Elevator Pitch how do you think your gonna succeed in this business of being a Motivational Speaker and change lives all over the world through weight loss and maintenance???”

So here I am, writing an Elevator Pitch – so what is it anyway?

“An elevator pitch is an overview of an idea for a product, service, or project. The name reflects the fact that an elevator pitch can be delivered in the time span of an elevator ride (for example, thirty seconds or 100-150 words).” – Wikipedia

Well then, there it is.  I have been asked actually to write two pitches, a short one and a long one.  The short one is like a Tag Line – something that is like less than 10 words or so, and then a longer one, some 100-150 words.

Short Pitch

Getting Down to the BIZness of Weight Control

Long Pitch

Wanna be a LOSER like me???  Getting Down to BIZness helps you to write your story for living the rest of your life Happily Thinner After – all the tools you will ever need for determining healthier eating lifestyles no matter what your preferences are. Wherever you are in your weight loss adventure, I can help you lose and maintain that loss for life.  Become a LOSER – the GOOD kind!

So what do you think?   Think it flies?  Think it will do?  Any ideas on how to make it better?  Any and all comments welcome.  Shoot, I am really making you work the last couple of posts eh?  But I am having fun, how about you all???

Thanks to you again who answered my question yesterday – it seems that my blogs best use is for information – although more than a few of you complained that you couldn’t answer more than one! HA! That brought a smile to my face – I am feeling a connection to you readers again, something through my own fault have not felt in the last year or so. This exercise sure has brought back the UMPH I needed to get back on my writing track.  No question of the day today – just if you feel compelled to help  me with my Elevator Pitch, I will not complain!

To My Commentor's

Carolyn – Thank you for the visit to my blog and for your answer to my question!  Entertainment eh?  I get the feeling that a lot of you do find me entertaining – I find me entertaining, heck, I crack myself up!!!

Vivian – WOW!  Camaraderie eh?  Yeah, we are all in this together, that is for sure.  But we are all making it, muddling through, and despite all the down turns we have double the upturns and so are successful!  WOOT WOOT!

Janet – At least you folks get to see the end results of my mad research, sometimes I sit here in front of the computer and completely go off on something that I have found, getting mad at the screen and I am like, NO STINKING WAY – sometimes I want to hurl my computer out of the window, as if it was responsible for the stupidity that I see.  UGH – HA!  Thanks again for the visit!

Monica – Oh gosh – my sweet Moni – HA!  You knew me when – seriously – you are SO PART OF THE TEAM my friend – in a few days I have to talk about forming my “ARMY” – and I looked at that assignment and I was so giddy cause I had already done it!  LOL – My army is out there, it’s growing, but it’s out there, I have a solid group of people that motivate me and I in turn offer them something, what I haven’t figured out yet.  LOL

Jerye – Well, don’t miss the train my friend – one of the things I have to commit to with this course is to make a schedule of writing and STICK WITH IT!  I did my best when I wrote something every single day, that keeps me connected and focused, and when I don’t do that then I tend to do stupid things – well NO MORE – so stay tuned!!!

Gratitude

Seriously, what can I say?

You folks came out in droves to answer my questions for me.  It seems that most of the answers were centered around information and motivation – which is what I had figured you would say – HA!

BUT…

Can I just say “WOW” as I didn’t realize how MANY of you all felt that way.  Sure I had a inkling, but what surprised me more than anything is those of you that I didn’t know, those of you that watch quietly and have watched quietly for quite awhile – all sharing stories with me on how I might have touched your life.  Some of the stories I got brought tears.  Some of the stories I got were inspirational for me.  But each and every one of you are writing your own story to being Happily Thinner After and I feel complete GRATITUDE of being able to share that progression with you.  So thank YOU!!!

I am involved right now in a course to make my blog better.  Most of you know by now that my mission is the hCG Protocol and all the little nuances that this entails including the Protocol itself along with the Maintenance.

I am coming up to two years being associated with the hCG Protocol, and in those two years, I have learned a lot, and shared alot – and by your answers to my questions yesterday, it’s evident that there are people out there that actually enjoy reading what I write about it.  Well, I want to become better at it.  In turn, by becoming better at my writings, you and I will both benefit.

I also want this to be my “job” – and UGH – do you know how much I hate even saying that?  When something becomes a JOB then it ceases to be fun – and so far, this is FUN and I want it to stay that way.  Well, the dude that offered this course says I can do BOTH – make money and have fun – HA!  So this is what I intend on doing – after all – my husband says “with all the time you spend on that computer, you better start making money at it or I need you to go find a job” – so OK, he has spoken, and I need to listen.

Anyhow, that is really besides the point as I only wanted you to know that I am on a mission to make this blog better.  I am going to start sharing with you the different goals I am going to pursue in my mission, and many of you will contribute to those goals by doing exactly what you did yesterday – answering my questions.  So bear with me as I implement some changes over the next few days – and the bombardment of questions that I will be asking as I fine tooth this thing I call my bloglife.

Ok, so in line with the questions that were asked yesterday – about the WHY’s of visiting my blog and the WHAT’s of information needed, let me hit you with another question.  When readers are faithful to some sort of writer, they are faithful because of one of the following needs are met:  Either they are entertained, they are informed or they are inspired.  Now, don’t pull a Dawn (MY MENTOR) on me and tell me all three – what is the predominant NEED that is fulfilled by following Getting Down to BIZness?

Question of the Day

What need is fulfilled by reading Getting Down to BIZness???
Entertainment – Information – Inspiration
