Travel

PromptHow did you travel in 2010? How and/or where would you like to travel next year?

I used to joke, I could easily be a truck driver, I sure do love driving.  I love the open road, and I love the time by myself.

And as much as I drove in the year 2010 – I can honestly say I still really like doing it.  Driving is better than a vacation to me, especially when I am all by myself.

Let’s see here, the question is “HOW” did I travel?  I traveled by car mostly, flying only once to Memphis.    But if there question was “WHERE” – that would be a little more involved …

  • Drove back and forth from Destin, FL to Charleston, SC in Feb/Mar and then again in July.
  • Drove from Destin, FL to Branson, MO in June.
  • Drove from Destin, FL to Orlando, FL in June/July.
  • Flew to Memphis, TN from Destin, FL in October.
  • Drove from Destin, Fl to Asheville, NC in November.

Already planning trips to Asheville, NC in Jan/May and  Oct of 2011.

The good thing is that the HTA Retreat for 2011 will be right here in the Panhandle of Florida – no traveling anywhere for me this time! ::giggle::  (OOPS!  Did I just let the cat out of the bag???)

I need to make a trip to the Pacific Northwest sometime in 2011 – don’t know how I am going to fit that in.

Whew!  Getting tired of thinking about that already!  ::giggle::

Do you have travel plans for 2011?

Future Self

PromptImagine yourself five years from now. What advice would you give your current self for the year ahead? (Bonus: Write a note to yourself 10 years ago. What would you tell your younger self?)

Geesh, do I have to?  ::giggle::

Let’s see here, in five years I will be 53 – still young enough to have fun, but way old enough to know better.

So ok, what advice would me at 53 give to me at 48?

Quit thinking that you are old – geesh woman, you are just starting to get to the fun years.

You have been at the threshold of greatness so many times in your life, but this next year you are about to embark on, you will finally be aware of all that held you back for so many years and you will finally BLAST through all that angst and become the woman you were meant to be.

You are finally ready to step into your power – it’s been on the back burner for so many years – now is the time – 2011 is going to be YOUR year, be confident that your intuition is clear and it leads you effortlessly and courageously into the future.

Always remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and that small steps lead to big outcomes – live each day doing something small that gets you closer to your goals.  You will be amazed at how far you can go if you just do a little at a time.

You made a wise decision in hiring a coach to help you, you are going to be amazed at the power of this one decision, plus the benefits of all the others that are joining you on that journey – that mastermind group was a BRILLIANT decision!!!

Make sure you show your gratitude each day, for that lovely piece of artwork you call your daughter, for the blessing of having your mother alive, for the friends you have made in the past and those that you will make in the year to come, for your family that loves you and wishes you the best – WRITE in that journal – WRITE your goals down – WRITE WRITE WRITE -  you are good at it, show it off and don’t cower from it anymore!

BONUS:

Hmmmm – not ready to tackle writing a note to myself 10 years ago, nope.  I think I might just be a little mean on that one.  ::giggle::

As promised, some accomplishments of 2010:

  • My newsletter!
  • Regular writing in blog again!
  • Settled in a wonderful home!
  • Pretty darn self-sufficient!
  • Made it to the CK Retreat!
  • Signed up for Coaching!

Imagine that it’s five years from now, what advice would you give yourself now for the upcoming year?

Beyond Avoidance

PromptWhat should you have done this year but didn’t because you were too scared, worried, unsure, busy or otherwise deterred from doing? (Bonus: Will you do it?)

I mentioned a couple of weeks back (Make) how I pretty much gave up on crochet all year because of the association it had for me and a hurtful situation.

Thankfully, I have gotten around that, and I have actually completed a couple of things since picking it up again.

One has to wonder how something so incredibly small, like just DOING something (picking up the hook and just STARTING) can have such a profound effect.  It makes you stop and wonder, why didn’t you just do it that way to begin with?

Sure, I know there are reasons – you don’t want to be reminded, you don’t want to feel the hurt again, you have to let time pass, you can name all sorts of things that stop you from just doing it.

So, instead of concentrating on the things that I was too scared, too worried, too unsure of, too busy to do this year, let me celebrate my accomplishments – oops, hole up a minute – I sort of cover that in my newsletter that is going out tomorrow – what?  You are not signed up yet for it?  HA!  Please sign up for it as soon as you can – here, I will make it easy for you (if you are not reading from my blog that is) – just go HERE!!!

And then tomorrow, I will give you my list of some of my accomplishments for the year.

And yes, by all means, I will continue to break through those things I call barriers in 2011 – the fear, the worry, the busy-ness, the indecision.  Gosh, it’s going to be a great year!

Can you give me just three things you are proud of that you did?
