Action

PromptWhen it comes to aspirations, it’s not about ideas. It’s about making ideas happen. What’s your next step?

Now why couldn’t this have come yesterday?  ::giggle:

The prompt is right on when it says that aspirations are nothing without action.  However, let’s take it a step further that there is no action without a plan.

Enter in the phrase “physician heal thyself” – yeah, you all will say a big I TOLD YOU SO when this post is done.  I preach a lot to my clients and Boot Camp members the value of being proactive – and all that means in simple terms is to have a plan, and then STICK to the plan.

I was reminded this last week of how incredibly useful this one thing is in accomplishing any task.

Earlier this year, I learned about CK’s little exercise that she calls the “Sunday Summit” in which she has her clients spend just 30 minutes every Sunday to plan out the week.  What is quite amazing is that she only wants us to focus on 3 things to accomplish – not much right?  But for those of us that are perfectionists out there, it’s MONUMENTAL to just pick three things, and then she adds a caveat, one of them must be focused on ME, geesh, narrow it down just a bit more why don’t you???

I have been a bit haphazard about doing it, but with the accountability group that I am with now, I pretty much felt compelled to get it done.

And boy am I glad I did, cause I gotta tell you, it worked!!!  I got a whole mess of things done this week!!!

  • My Facebook page is done and if you want to venture over there to LIKE it, it would be awesome!
  • My Blog had a face lift, and for those that only get my posts via an eMail, take a gander when you can!
  • My NEWSLETTER is finally going LIVE!!!  It’s been three years in the making, and it’s finally here – so again, for those of you that only get my blog posts from a reader or through the email, visit one of two places mentioned above to sign up for The Biz Buzz – Your Nutritional Wake Up Call – or the front page of Happily Thinner After.

So truly, what a great motivator to continue to use the Sunday Summit as a tool to get things done.

And yes, one of those three things were to take care of ME, and I am happy to report that I did indeed take care of me this week, to the tune of 2.6 lbs lost!  YIPPEE!!!

So it’s Monday – can you think of three things you would like to accomplish this week?

11 Things

Prompt - What are 11 things your life doesn’t need in 2011? How will you go about eliminating them? How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life?

Hmmm, struggling with this one this morning.  Only because to ME it seems like I would be focusing on all that was negative over the past year, and while I know there were lots of ickyness to the year for me, I think I have covered this in detail in one post or another over the last 10 days.

With that in mind, I thought to myself how I could turn this around as more of a what are 11 things I could do in 2011 that would be better than 2010?  That’s the ticket, I have done a similar exercise with my readers at the beginning of each year my blog has been active – but I would take just 10 minutes to write down a list of things I would like to be able to do in the next year that I couldn’t do in the past – and then I encouraged my readers to do the same :

With that in mind, and to stay true to the commitment of this exercise, here are 11 Things, rather 11 Intentions for 2011 – and my other caveat to this exercise is that I am stating them as if they have already happened:

  1. I am healthy – I weigh 140 lbs – I accomplished this goal by sticking to The hCG Protocol and maintaining the weight I have lost in between the rounds by eating at least 50% raw and no processed foods.
  2. I am clear – I know how to say “no” – I say this easier now cause I have learned how to set up boundaries and systems and guidelines for my life.
  3. I am financially secure – I know where my money is, where it goes, and what it is used for.  I know that money is just an instrument for accomplishing various intentions, and knowing that, I am secure that my future and the future of my daughter is set.
  4. I am consistent – consistency has encompassed so many areas – consistent in homeschooling, consistent in writing in my blog, consistent in writing my newsletter, consistent in the articles being shared on my site, consistent in my volunteer work, consistent in self-care, consistent in education.
  5. I am grateful – learning about gratitude has been a fundamental instrument in my success.  Knowing that I have to come up with 5 things to put into my gratitude journal each and every night (consistently) means I am looking for these things during the day and that helps me stay focused on happy thoughts.
  6. I have clarity of thought – this is different than my intention for #2 – I spend time daily making sure I allow my creative process to develop – in doing so, this enables me to run my business and my life more efficiently.
  7. I am decluttered – I have realized the clutter was just occupying my life with things that are distracting, and prohibits me from attaining my intentions – now I am clutter free!
  8. I practice self-love – I realize that self-love is not about ego but rather about going within to have unconditional love of myself, which means freely forgiving myself for mistakes, past, present and future.
  9. I am aware – I live in the present, which means I give all of my attention to what is happening at the moment, and this is for my child, my family, my friends, my clients, and my business associates.
  10. I am spiritual – I take time each day to reflect on my spiritual needs and find a way to share a point learned with someone that I love.
  11. I am generous – I give of my time, my energy, my abilities, and my power generously.

Ok, then, that was fun!!!  And a great way for me to focus for my year – and I don’t know about you, but there seemed to be a recurring theme to each one of those things – clarity – which incidentally is my WORD OF THE YEAR!!!

What is just ONE thing that you can do for 2011 that would bring you closer to your goals?

Wisdom

Prompt - What was the wisest decision you made this year, and how did it play out?

Just a bit ago, I commented to a reader “this blog is about to sound like the Waco let’s worship CK society”.  And well it’s not.  Really.  Seriously.  As much as I appreciate her, as much as I enjoy her style, as much as I am going to thrive under her coaching, I don’t worship her.

But I cannot NOT mention how many things she has helped me to understand, even before I met her, things that sure, they were out there already, but because of her style, I am understanding them for the first time.  That is the job of a coach right?

I do that with my clients – everything I tell them, they pretty much know already, or have heard, but there is something that I do or say that makes them fully comprehend for the first time.  I am just a messenger – there is nothing new under the sun – they just resonate with my “voice” and in that way can comprehend the information in a way that they couldn’t before.

THAT is how I feel about CK – she resonates with me – she makes me understand, she is a great teacher and for that I am appreciative.

My wisest decision on January 1, 2010 was to sign up for her course Uplevel Your Life – and in doing so, there was set in motion a sequence of events that lead me to this moment that will forever change the way I handle my life and my passion.  My coach has enabled me to focus on what is going to move me to the next level – and the first step is to have a year that is full of CLARITY.

Won’t it be interesting to join me in my journey to see the power of the coaching model – I get asked the question so much – “Who Coaches the Coach” – and since I understand the value of this model, I will be YOUR model to show it can work in your life.

Sometime between now and Sunday, there will be a nice little important new feature to be released – and with it, a cool little gift from me to you – I am really excited about it, and I know you will be too.

If you could pick one moment this year that you made a wise decision, what would it be?
