Give Me 10 Minutes – 2011

At the end of every year (for the past 3 years), I have performed this little exercise with my readers.  It’s fun, it’s interactive, and it helps focus on things that you WILL be able to do in 2011, if you just keep swinging.

Set your stop watch for just ten minutes, and in those ten minutes I want you to list all the things you KNOW you will be capable of doing in 2011 – things that are weight related that you couldn’t do before, or that were next to impossible to do.  Things that you just didn’t want to do because you were morbidly obese or for that matter, just overweight.

These are the rules:

  • Start each statement with “I will be able to”
  • You can only spend TEN MINUTES
  • Let your mind run wild, be whimsical, be realistic, it doesn’t matter
  • Concentrate on things that are weight loss related – things you couldn’t do before that you will be able to do when weight isn’t an issue

Have fun with this ok?

Girls Night Out

I know it’s late, but in keeping with my commitment to blog every day, I am here.

My daughter and I had a impromptu girls night out.  I took her out to dinner and then surprised her with going to the movies and we saw AVATAR – if you haven’t yet, GO SEE IT.  Worth every penny and then some.

It had a pretty interesting underlying message – about energy and all life being intertwined – or maybe I just thought so because of the whole energy kick I have been on lately.  <giggle>

So how does this relate to hCG?  Well this time, it didn’t!  HA!  Except maybe this, we all need to take a break now and then and just surround ourselves with something other than protocol.

Whose Your Gayle?

HA!

Most of you know about my ultimate goal for 2010 – that is to be the NEW and IMPROVED OPRAH – had a discussion recently with a business associate about how important it is to have friends that you can count on when you get as big as Oprah, and I don’t mean her WEIGHT, but her enormous popularity and her tremendous impact she has on people .

How do you develop those relationships on your way to the top?  How do you find those that you can trust that will stick with you through the thick and thin of things no matter what?  I am finding out it’s a process.  It’s a weeding process.

Here is something I read earlier today:

When you learn to create your business in the new model, then people thank you for being successful. They thank you for who you are and what you’ve created. (You get to thank them too!)

Gratitude is what it’s all about folks.  Being grateful for the friends you have, and more than that LETTING THEM KNOW that you appreciate them.  Those that fall into that category and turn around and thank you for being successful instead of being jealous of your success?  Those are the ones that you want around.

Gayle is that to Oprah.

Who is YOUR Gayle?  Who is happy for the success you have had with weight loss?  Who is by your side no matter what, no matter what you can give back, who is THRILLED for your accomplishments and THANKS you for being so successful, because when it comes right down to the brass tax?  It’s all about gratitude.

If you cannot accept your friends being successful, then you have really got to look inside yourself and figure out why not.

If you are grateful for your friends successes, then it will come back to you ten fold.

Just try it.

Jealousy is such an ugly thing.
