Transform Your Mind…
September 28, 2011

Be transformed by making your mind over.

In this day and time, you would think the above was written by some sort of modern day proponent of some personal development program.

Would it surprise you to learn it was written around 2000 years ago and it is found in the bible?

This is what I refer to as a “universal law”.  It is right up there with laws like The Law of Attraction or The Law of Gratitude.  It is one of those things that you can govern your life by using the principles attached to this concept.

The point is, that you cannot start any sort of transformation until you make your mind up to do it.

In this weeks The Biz Buzz, I talk about transformation of your body and how it has to start in your mind.  In the tip of the week section, I gave an exercise to do to help you start that process, I am repeating it here, and then, if you would like to share how doing this exercise might have helped you, I would certainly love to hear it!

Pros and Cons List

All of us at one time or another has worked with a pros and cons list. However, in line with today’s article, try this little exercise to help you transform your mind over so that your goals are a little clear:

On a sheet of paper, draw a line down the middle, vertically. On the left side of the line, the title should read “MISSING OUT”; on the right side the title should read “POSSIBILITIES.”

On the left, compile a list of activities, dreams, ambitions, anything that you can think of that you are missing out on because of your excessive weight. This list will startle you with all the things you have cheated yourself out of because of your weight.

On the right, compile a list of how your life will be transformed by committing yourself to a weight loss control program. This side is only limited by your imagination. Again, this list will startle you with the possibilities that are in store for you should you keep to your goals.

Have fun with this, visit it often! Don’t ever settle – dream big!

This is Dedicated to the One I Love
September 21, 2011

Prepare for old school…

Do you remember the words to the above song?  Part of it goes like this:

Life can never be exactly like we want it to be
I can be satisfied just knowing that you love me
There’s one thing I want you to do especially for me
And it’s something that everybody needs
Each night before you go to bed my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me my baby
And tell all the stars above
This is dedicated to the one I love

~ The Sherelle’s

I know that the song was meant to be between two people, but what if you took it out of context for a bit and applied it to yourself?  That you would just spend a little time each day dedicating the day to the one you love, yourself?  Does that sound a little bizarre?

In my newsletter this week, I talk about dedication – how important this is to develop while you are on The hCG Protocol.  Dedication to your purpose, or your goals, are what are going to hold you when things are not working the way they should on the scale.  Staying dedicated is not always easy.  I offered some suggestions in my newsletter, but would love to hear your thoughts on how YOU stay dedicated to your goals.  Do you have some tricks you would like to share?

Are You Motivated Away From Pain or Towards Pleasure?
September 14, 2011

People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily. ~ Zig Ziglar

::giggle::

I had to laugh with that one, but seriously?  How true is it?

How many times have you read or saw something that was motivating, and you were all inspired to do something, and then it fizzled a few days later?  Motivation is something that you have to work on daily for it to do it’s job.

In my article at The Biz Buzz this week, I focused on motivation.  Specifically on what type spurs you to action … either things that move toward pleasure, or things that move you away from pain.

I do think I have a little of both in me, but I do lean more towards the pleasure end of the spectrum.  In the area of weight control, I almost always thought about all the fun I would have when I reached my goal.  Where I could go, how there wouldn’t be an issue for me to fit in the seats at Disney World!  How eating at a restaurant meant I could fit in the booth.  How shopping for size 4 and 6 clothes was going to be a whole lot of fun!

Interesting thought … some feel that we rely too much on motivation.  The thought is that when we are no longer feeling motivated that we cease action to get to our goals.  Instead, the opinion is that we must rely on what inspires us.  By being inspired, we are determined to get to our goals no matter what the challenge.

I do feel that inspiration and motivation go hand in hand.  Motivation is what drives us, inspiration is the fuel.

I would be curious to find out what you are motivated by…either away from pain, or towards pleasure…
