No matter how "nice" you have been all year, for most of us the holidays are a time of "naughty": self-induced food trauma border lining binging! Ok maybe not that bad, or, oops, maybe worse! Even the most proactive "dieter" sometimes catches themselves screaming "nooooo" the day after the holidays. The possible reasons are numerous but always start with "a little too much"; a little too much family and friends, a little too much debt, a little too much stress, etc., which leads inevitably to a little too much food!If you have been on the protocol and have lost some weight no doubt there is the added stress of everyone (even crazy Aunt Polly) telling you "it is ok", "you deserve a break", "a little indulgence won't hurt". Of course this is after you have been questioned to death about how you "did it". Either way, you have found yourself remembering this same picture right after Thanksgiving...you are more stuffed than the turkey you just ate and are desperately considering alternatives that previously never crossed your mind! ![]() Sadly the "noooo" is immediately followed by regret and guilt. It is the guilt that warps our thinking even further and we bury ourselves in the consumption of the leftovers. Now as you are reading this, you probably are thinking "wow that sounds pretty hopeless". Obviously it is not. If you can maintain your proactive disposition, you are to be commended...no PRAISED for your effort! On the other hand, if you cannot, it is not time to beat yourself up. I have experienced Biz's correction recovery's first hand and know that they work. Having this knowledge passed on to me directly from Biz has made it possible to go on vacations and binge during the holidays without stressing that I'll never be able to get the weight back off. I know that I will be taking advantage of this very very soon (yes, I over did it this Christmas).
